Self- reflection
I feel that I have got to know photoshop really well. And that I am able to photoshop any picture into what I want it to be. Overall just my creative skills have gained because i'm able to start from scratch and make something good out of a picture. For the last few weeks of the semester, I hope to be able to learn indesign a little more. And I hope to come out with a good final prodject. Something that still challenges me is illustrator. I can do the basics of illustrator, but I can't figure it out in depth.

http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2007/03/13/inspire-yourself-58-creative-logos/
This is the website that I found was really helpful. It gave about 60 logo examples of different businesses. It let me understand that you don't necessarily have to have a picture in your logo, and you can make your words interesting and have that your logo. On this website there is a link where you can find tips on how to be more creative when it comes to making objects like logos, this was really helpful as well!

This is my panorama project. It is a picture of my house out in front of my block, which in real life has a slight curve to it. I took a series of 4 pictures in this photograph. First I placed them together where they matched up best, then I took the eraser and smoothed the edges so you couldn't tell that I had separate pictures. Then for the first picture on the way left, I changed the lighting in it so that there wasn't such a contrast between the two pictures. Then I cropped the image as a whole so that the size of the different pictures all matched into one picture.

I looked at the website on 13 different steps of how to be a better photographer and I found that it was actually very helpful. It had tips that I didn't even realize to look for when it comes to taking a photograph. Starting out with tip number two, It is very important to look at the background of your picture before you take the picture and check if there is any distractions that will take away from your main focus. Another step that is helpful is step number 5, it tell you that the closer you get to an object can make the picture more beautiful in detail rather than showing everything around your main object. Step number 8 was also good advice I thought, it tells you to find a focal point in the picture and not just random objects. Step number nine was interesting to me in the fact that they tell you to not place your main objects in the middle of your picture, but to actually place it off center and that will make your focal point stand out more. The last step that I thought was helpful is step number 12, it tells you to make sure that you use different modes for different situations when you are taking pictures. For example when you take pictures of people playing sports you have to set it to a mode where the picture is taken quickly. Overall this website might be a little wordy at times; however, it has a lot of useful information when it comes to taking a good photograph.

The two logos I found to compare are a Trix cereal box and a Sugar Crisp cereal box with their logos on the box itself.

* The logo on this cereal box is very plain with very bland colors. If I was walking in a store this would not catch my eye at all. There is nothing exciting or unusual about this logo that would get people to be attracted to this at first eye sight.

* This logo on this cereal box however is very exciting. It is very colorful and catches the eye really easily. If I was walking through a store this would catch my eye right away. They have involved various colors and light variations.

I thought that having the website https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html is a good idea because you can use photoshop on the internet where ever you are even if you don't have the software. I liked this website also because it is very clear on the instruction of how to run the website. And the environment of the website is very creative with the lettering and link buttons, this makes the website fun. I thought that you can also do just as much as the normal photoshop hardware and it is even easier to do on the website. I good thing about this website also is you can click on hundreds of sample photos they have and it will tell you what they did to make the photo how it is. That is a very helpful tool when trying to edit a photo if you have examples. I would suggest using https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html over adobe photoshop.

This is my movie poster that I made for TANN class. The reason I chose to do Indiana Jenna is because I thought is was kinda funny and I originally say the idea while looking through picture on google. I placed a black box on the bottom screen and put the words Indiana Jenna in a cool font that matches the theme of the poster. Then I croped my face to be placed under that had. I also cropped bergen, kelsey and Rainey's faces to be placed on the bodies around me. Then I went to filter gallery and made our faces look more cartoon like or old fashion like to also match the theme of the poster!

Professional interview: Digital design

Professional Interview: Digital design
Person being interviewed: Lisa Mitchell of Norfolk, NE

What do you do for a job that involves digital design?
I make posters, business cards, logos, invitations, newsletters, brochures and powerpoint presentation. This would be a side business to make extra income, but may lead to a full time position some day.

How do you use digital design in the job? Examples.
I make business cards and take personal pictures to incorporate in a variety of media. I also use digital design in development of a wide variety of publications or documents for customers. I use digital design in my powerpoint presentations to produce a quality product.

What program do you use to make your digital design logos?
Microsoft Publisher, HP Design, Kodak, and Adobe Photoshop.

What does it take to be good and creative at digital design?
A person needs to know how to use the programs. They also need a good eye for color and aesthetics. Attention to detail is necessary to pick out subtle changes. You need to have the ability to envision what the client is wanting and good communication skills are important.

Why is digital design important for your career?
Although I only use this part time, knowing the programs and how to use them saves a lot of time verses doing it all by hand. You can take a mediocre presentation and enhance it to make it better, more appealing and affective.

What inspires you to have a career in digital design?
I enjoy using my computer skills and creativity to create projects that are useful and enjoyed by others.
